I wrote, "Tobias Hellweg and I will play our 11pt match on GamesGrid in 18.5 hours."

MandM1951 asked, "Is that 18.5 GGT (<-- the time shown at the bottom of the GridGammon page)?"

It is very clear to me that MandM1951 does not speak English as a native language. Once upon a time I had little patience for those who did not speak Engish well. However, after living in Brazil for two years and attempting to learn Portuguese, I have a lot more respect and patience for those whose native language is not English.

There is a difference between saying, "We will play at 18:30" and "We will play in 18.5 hours."

The former gives the time of the match. The latter does not explicitly give the time of the match, but states how many hours into the future the time will be played. You take the time of the post and add 18.5 hours to it to determine the time the match will be played.

I mistakenly thought I was being very clear about what time the match was to be played.

The whole issue is moot because the match has now been postponed until next week.
