Thus I chose the move 6-4, 5-4 and 9-8 ... After the game ... I saw that that particular move was 9th,

O-ply ranks that play ninth. Is that what your tutor is set to use? 2-ply ranks it first. 3-ply ranks it seventh, among many close plays.
