5-5 play of the day

You can't win with the cube and being gammoned costs you very little. You have a reasonable racing lead and without contact you are ~70% to win. While contact is very good for him, you would like to make plays such that decrease the chances of of it for him and increase the chances of favorable contact for you.
His timing is not good for holding either of of his anchors. He is praying for favorable contact in the next few rolls. If he doesn't get it he will probably be forced off both anchors or be forced to crush his board.
17/2, 6/1: leaves no shots, prepares to build a board behind him and makes it dangerous for him, in a few rolls, when he will be forced to make a decision on keeping his last anchor or crushing his board; minimizes the the damage done by rolls like 6-6 and 5-5, 4-4, and 3-3 by keeping your blockade. It appears this play works against both of his most common winning variations, racing and contact.
