Playing two of the seven seems marginally more flexible, but it is not because it takes away some of your numbers that would point on the four without leaving a direct shot. Take one of your spares off the six and put it on the one and then your play would be correct, any other play than yours would be a large blunder, obviously. While the lesser timing is a very big part of that, I think it underscores the reasoning that making the ace is correct in your position.
