OK, "WWBD"? Probably 13/5(2), the "obvious" and usually right play. Hmmm, that must be wrong! Let's see, it does seem that the first two 4s should be 8/4(2), making a point but also allowing us to do something useful with the other 4s, like disengage from the 18 point. Toward that end, 18/14 should be the third 4.
My play with the last one is 14/10. That way, maybe he'll be tempted to hit if he rolls double 5s, and we can get back on the gammon with the roll that should have saved it for him for sure! (It's not a bad place to have a builder/hitter anyway, of course.)
Speaking of making him hit, 13/5 for the last two isn't out of the question, either. I don't normally "play for the backgammon", but this is a score where there might be a case for trying it. I'm pretty sure this is the play that actually wins the most backgammons, though you might miss out on some gammons in the effort to get it. I doubt it could cost you the game, because if the rocks start to slide you can probably always cash before the game itself slips away from you for good.
