I have a totally different vision of what would make a true, "world championship" tournament that would crown a true World Champion.

It consists of qualifying events around the world, or using existing, major tournaments as qualifying events, and the winners of each major tournament would then compete against each other in a single tournament, via the internet...as that way we can be assured that there will be full attendance of all the greatest players. Of course, the play at each end will be monitored by a designated official to ensure that no one receives any help or aids, and every match will be recorded and viewed by the entire backgammon world.

At the end of the day (or weekend) we will truly have a champion of the world and we will also see the PR ratings of all the great players competing.
