The tradition of this event has always been that you can still win with two losses and you are still playing with three losses until you cash. The current setup preserves this tradition.

It's a great format. You play ten rounds against open competition. If you can win 70% of your matches, you cash. If you do better than that, you can win. If you win 60% of your matches, as I did, you get a full plate of nothing. There is ample opportunity to make up for a bad beat, and you get a full weekend of action.
