Thanks, Bill, for sharing your opinion. I see your point.

On the other hand, I believe that Bill Davis is promoting backgammon by encouraging and rewarding intermediate players in giving them ABT points.

Look at the all-time ABT points list at www.chicagopoint.com. I do not see any intermediate players in the top 50 or top 100. By awarding ABT points to intermediates, we are not in danger of seeing an intermediate player surpass Neil Kazaross' all-time point total.

We need to respect and appreciate the intermediate players at our tournaments. It would be a great idea for all championship players to congratulate those who cash in intermediate events.
