The Danish Doubles Championship and Danish Mixed Doubles Championship are both modified Swiss tournaments, and squeeze 11 rounds of 9 point matches into a Saturday and Sunday. However, this does make for a full schedule, with no time at all for side events and would probably preclude Sunday evening flights home. "Full" might be replaced with "grueling," in view of which the traditionally more social Mixed tournament returned to 9 rounds this year after several years of 11 rounds.

Looking at the New Mexico brochure, it seems to be in fact a 4-day event, with doubles beginning Thursday, Masters and blitzes beginning Friday, and the main event beginning 12 noon on Saturday.

Tournament directors who prefer their open division competition not be Swiss might consider whether Swiss might be more attractive to intermediate players, who I imagine are less likely to be involved in masters and doubles side events.
