Eliminate entry fees to promote backgammon?

Any kind of leisure and entertainment costs money. Backgamon is no exception. Someone organizing it puts up time, effort and equipment and on top of the merit and the gold medal, should at least be able to cover the expenses. There is nothing wrong in charging a fee, be it a fix amount, be it a cut from something. Anyone moaning about this is killing a bit those efforts and helping those efforts to stop eventually.
