In Response To: Backgammon Hall of Fame Candidates (Stick)

I think you need to look at players who were "great" at their time, or who contributed to the thinking about the game "at their time".

If you judge by today's criteria, you would not consider Jesse Owen a top athlete, or Eric Heiden a top speed skater, whereas I would consider Jesse Owen to be among the top athletes ever, and Eric Heiden the best speed skater ever (no dispute).

I am not sure why you would not want to include PJT, maybe something I missed. Tardieu - I think long enough. There are others you could add - say Svobodny would also be a good choice.
