Clocks and Penalties

Mike has a point. Not to make him an example, but the World Class player John O'Hagan has incredible abilities to calculate take points, doubling points, take and doubling points on the recube to 4, folding the gammon prices into all of those calculations, etc.
Clocks probably put him at a disadvantage because he probably doesn't have time to do all thse to the n'th degree at every doubling point, but he might go to the effort without a clock.
