First, one reason why you might be getting a better rating on EX is that in fact, you played better than GNU thinks you did, and since EX is proven to be more accurate, you are getting a more accurate rating.

Second, if you don't have a really fast computer, I find "thorough" is just fine for analysis, and when I look at my errors, if I want to get a more definitive answer, I highlight the top plays (or cube action) and run it through XGR+ which is much faster than a rollout.

Third, keep in mind there is a difference between PR and ER, and that will account for some differences in rating. Also, if you haven't unchecked the box that compares the play to EG, that will skew your PR rating as well. Be sure to uncheck that box, and I would also change the search interval to huge.
