At the time, I thought Lovie was probably correct as there was 7:26 left in the game and the ball was on the 1/2 yard line and a safety would also give the Bears the lead. Yes, you did right to run the sim assuming a poor Detroit offence, but they could still move the ball and proved that on the late game drive where an arcane rule screwed them out of the winning TD.

It never ceases to amaze me how these kick happy coaches and worse yet announcers can't realize how screwed a team is when they get the ball on their 1 yard line. However, had there been only 4 or 5 minutes left to play, I think I'd have taken my 3 pts and kicked off.
