In Response To: Chuck's Software Football Analysis of Bears Play (Stanley E. Richards)

We, backgammon players love stats. We love equity analysis. We love reviewing difficult decisions. Many of us also love football. Thus, I suggest that we have Monday Morning "Ask Chuck's Football Software" questions. Members should feel free to request that Chuck give the software answer to an interesting Coach's decision.

I am surprised by the software's answer. It would help us understand your software more if we knew what data was inputted in the analysis. Down, yards to go for touchdown, score, and time remaining. Others have asked if other information was part of the input data.

When you consider the possibilities of all the data that could be used, you could imagine a huge scope of facts. My goodness, the answer may be very different if it was known that the Bears failed three previous times from the 1/2 yard line. Compare this scenario to the Bears drove 3 plays for 9 yards and now must decide to kick the field goal or not. It seems that you took on a very complex project with your venture. I am interested in learning more about this software.
