You apparently overlooked Rafael Palmeiro's bellboy status as non-HOF member also.

Of those five non-members:

Rose -- we know the deal; and the deal is a travesty; certainly considering some of the other HOF members

Bonds -- not yet eligible; hopefully he never makes it; if you can exclude the all time hits leader you can exclude the all time homers leader; and Rose didn't cheat to set his record

Palmeiro -- admitted steroid user, hopefully keeps him out forever; played in 2005 so this December's ballot may be his first time eligible

Biggio -- not yet eligible; spotless reputation

Jeter -- still active
