Another couple of comments on the 2005 Series.

Interestly, and coincident with this string of comment, one of the biggest calls of the Series involved a batter being awarded first base for being hit by a pitch which the replays showed clearly hit the bat. Imagine that. Game 2, bottom of the 7th, Astros lead 4-2, White Sox lead the Series 1-0, White Sox with men on second and third, two outs, Jermaine Dye hitting. He is awarded first base for a foul ball. A new pitcher is brought in and the first batter, who may not have batted if Dye had had to finish his at-bat, hit a grand slam. The White Sox ultimately win the game to go up 2-0 rather than the Series being tied 1-1. In what really could have been an interesting coincidence, Chad Qualls was brought in to pitch after the 'hit batter' and gave up the grand slam -- he is also the guy who did not hit Jeter the Cheater the other night.

Also, back on the home field advantage ruling: I think it rather ridiculous that Houston had to play in very cold conditions in Chicago in October (a clear advantage for the White Sox) yet were not allowed to attempt to capitalize on their own home field advantages. I would wager if it had been 100 degrees in Houston (which might have provided an advantage to Houston) MLB would have made them close the roof.
