How well would a bot do in a human tournament?

Tom Are there any bots that vary their strategy depending on the strength of their opponent?
Not XG and I don't think any other program do (Frank and Christian, please correct me if I am wrong).
It could be done using an asymmetrical MET. But how does the bot know which one to use (except if the bot has access to the opponent Elo)? It could be possible to analyze the game as it goes and change the MET during the game.
This will allow the bot to hold on big cube to make the match longer. As for checker play, I wouldn't know how to program it so it tries to make the game more complex. But I highly doubt there is much to gain on that.
In all case there is a lot of programming and I am not sure how much added value it would provide. But if Tournament Directors decide to allow bots to enter and cash in events I surely see the value it would provide me: $$$$ ;-)
