Play on?

The many problems of playing on include:
- Do you know how to play all the immediate rolls? (as I'm sure your opponent does) [22 44 41 51 42 52 53] for example and why are these plays right? Is it because you're cashing next turn or playing on?
- How many gammons do you actually think you win from here? How many games do you think you lose by playing on?
- Are you going to know when to cash in the future or are you going to mentally flip a coin in your head again and hope for the best? What if this sequence for example is 51 for you, you peel two checkers (?) and then your opponent throws some randomly normal number, either getting two crossovers or getting 1 crossover and covering the 3pt. Now you only have 2 bad numbers instead of the 4 you just had and you also have two checkers off, are you still playing on?
If you're saying you'll risk it now but cash regardless next turn unless you're in a completely safe position as Christian said to me that doesn't follow, why wouldn't you cash now. I honestly feel it's wrong not to cash because if I was the other guy in this situation I'd be happy to see my opponent shake & roll.
