I think they should not allow coaches to call a time-out just before the snap on a field goal attempt, which often results in a practice kick. As far as a valid strategy, I suppose it could put extra pressure on a player if he makes the first attempt. But, it may also allow him to judge the field conditions, wind, footing, etc. I wonder if there is any factor about the ground at the spot he kicks from becoming less stable after a kick. Does it take something out of a kicker on a an attempt that is very long or into a strong wind?

Whatever the effect is, I think it is negligible and it is BS the way the current system operates.
