Bots killed the game? WHAT?!

I had been playing at the very early BIBA tournaments for a few years and was on FIBS as soon as it appeared, and I saw myself as a decent club player. Investing in Jellyfish as soon as it came out proved to me that I wasn't.

However, now that the bots have progressed to the point where I can run a completed match through with expert "commentary" I enjoy the game much more than I used to. I'm certainly playing far better. On the other hand, tournaments have lost their appeal a bit because I can get a good quality game out of GnuBG (or dear Jellyfish for old time's sake) for free whenever I want at home, with an opponent who won't get arsey if the kids start playing up; at tournaments any expected winnings are more than eaten up by hotel and travel bills, so it's a pleasure I have to accept paying for and rationing myself over.
