Impact of Jacoby rule on checker play

There may be some nonexpert players who when they double do so only because they think they should because the Jacoby rule is in effect, and thereby do not miss a double/take or double/pass they would otherwise have missed. I dunno. "It's a double because I win some gammons and with the Jacoby rule I don't want to miss out on any gammons" isn't very sophisticated. I suspect that "knowing" something about the Jacoby rule and gammons really doesn't make much difference in the timeliness of doubles. I think the biggest effect is in games which suddenly go from no double or double/take to what is even to nonexperts clearly too good with the rule in effect.
Real
donksfriendly players go from double/take to double/pass to too good to double -- and that's when they double. Sometimes getting a take ;-
