That's right. So how often does one go from a proper no double to too good? No one seems to know. If we had better data, we could stop guessing that it's "not rare" or happens in "many" cases. But I'll take a guess. We know that about 30% of all games end in double/pass. The roll before, these were either (1) no double or (2) too good. I'll guess that (1) happens "a lot" and accounts for nearly all -- perhaps 90% or more -- of the 30%.
