In Response To: Impact of Jacoby rule on checker play (Timothy Chow)

I agree with you, Tim, that "in the vast majority of positions where a "normal" bold play is a candidate, Jacoby makes no difference" and with Matt that unless you know when it makes a difference it shouldn't affect your play. If someone could give some examples of when one should play more boldly because the Jacoby rule is in effect, we could get some notion of how often it makes any difference.
