Obviously there are words in Farsi to describe something equitable of fair. The humorous part of this was that many, not all, of my Persian friends at the club, start by offering a very unfair settlement, such as offering to pay 1 or less when it is worth 2 or more. I think it is their normal way of doing business, they never start by offering what they are willing to pay. Some of the offers can be quite amusing, although time-consuming. It is not uncommon to be offered a hit-no-hit, which means to wash the game when hit and to accept one-point when missed (worth .694 when there are 11 hitters) in a situation where it is worth 1.5 points or more.

So after hearing these ridiculous offers for so many years, it was very amusing to hear these two gentleman state that there were no word in Farsi for 'fair settlement'.
