I guess those outrageous settlement offers could be described as Farsical?

Speaking of certain phrases not translating, it reminds me of the following joke.

An American, a Russian, a North Korean and an Israeli were walking down the street and were stopped by a reporter who said "Excuse me, what is your opinion of the food shortage".

The American replied: I don't understand - what does "shortage" mean?

The Russian replied: I don't understand - what does "opinion" mean?

The North Korean replied: I don't understand - what does "food" mean?

The Israeli replied: I don't understand - what does "excuse me" mean?
