eXtreme Gammon Feeds My Ego

Snowie’s expert range is 4.4 to 5.9. eXtreme Gammon’s expert performance rating is 5.0 to 7.5. I was able to play at a Snowie 5.5 when playing against the computer. However, I could only average a 6.1 when playing online. I only play 5 to 9 point matches. I play 100 matches, record my average, and reset. This 6.1 online average has been consistent for over a year.
I just finished my first 100 online matches analyzed by eXtreme Gammon. XG rates me as a strong expert with a 6.1 overall performance rating. Now, this feeds my ego much more than Snowie evaluating my online play as just below expert.
Of course, Snowie and XG use different formulas to determine error rate. It is possible that XG is simply an easier grader and that is why my XG rating is higher than my Snowie rating.
Yet, I offer a different theory. XG rates me higher because I was always playing better than Snowie would credit me. It was common for Snowie to misjudge a move as a blunder when it was not even an error. I frequently had to rollout Snowie analysis of which I did not agree. About 20% to 30% of the time, rollouts revealed that Snowie gave my move an error rating much higher than its actual equity loss. Perhaps, my higher Snowie error rate is a function of misevaluations by Snowie 3 ply. It is very rare that XG 3 ply makes a serious misevaluation of my moves.
Well, that is just one theory. I want to believe that I was always an online expert player, but Snowie improperly evaluated many of my decisions. Most of you have more experience with XG. Is my theory possibly true? Or are there other factors that I should consider?
