Having a stretch of 15-20 plays with only one small error would bring down my long-term ER, that's why it's the right decision.

Recall that Bob was postulating a player who has a flaw in his game which leads him to take these cubes, not someone who is brilliant enough to spot the .02 error and then take anyway. It's an interesting observation. I'm reminded of Danny Kleinman's point that someone who passes too many cubes will lose a lot more money than someone who takes too many cubes, even if they are making equivalent errors.
