I dont think I claimed there was a rigorous implication. The exact value doesn't matter for the line of thinking. I wanted to give an example of how much higher than 50, the percentage could be and remembered the record to be in the 2000-and-fourties, so wrote above 2040. Anyone who is interested in top level archery or has practiced archery at a decent level, will know that 50% is way too low at the top level even for recurves. It is even higher for compounds. I dont know the distribution of the individual arrows, but from the score, its trivial to get a lower bound for the percentage at the record performance to 156/216. The true percentage is surely higher, and as a guess, easily above 80.

Now is it likely, (loosely speaking!) that for top level archers, this should dip to 50, despite the record being an extraordinary performance ? I dont think so :o)
