Dealing the checkers randomly would introduce a luck factor, and one of the really exciting features of this game is that THERE IS NO LUCK FACTOR.
The play of the game, and the use of the cube, is the same as regular backgammon, except that you have to decide when to use which roll and you know which rolls your opponent might be able to use on his next roll. Each play requires far more strategy and skill than regular backgammon.
This is, in my opinion, Backgammon taken to the highest level. Win or lose, no one can claim that luck was involved. I encourage you to try playing and then offer your opinion.
