Something like:
"divide the points your opponent needs by the points you need and multiply by 50% and that is approximately where your doubling window opens".
or
"if losing the game at the current cube level leaves you with less than 5% MWC and if winning after a recube puts you close to even or better, then recube with any decent likelihood of market loss"
