Bad news from Belgium

As I recall the experiment of creating a federation of independent states was first tried 200 years earlier on the west side of the Atlantic. It makes me chuckle to hear Europeans mock the wacky system of government in the USA, failing to realize that the USA is analogous to the EU and not to any particular European state.
