I see bar/21* 13/7 but I play bar/21* 8/2*. Although either play could go one way or the other (or backfire completely!), I see the choice as being between trying to give Opponent a well-time acepoint game with five men back, or trying to finesse Opponent into a poorly-timed backgame. I go with the acepoint game. The score doesn't influence me. At 5-away, backgammons still count.
