A recube can put the match on the line. If white eats the 4 and loses gammon. That is a parlay. Think about in this way: how many equity and chances you will give your opponent, if you are better and delay the cube possibly only winning two or three games at 1, losing every time your market for doubling to late. How many chances you have to get for this prospect? There is at time no overshooting. You can need every 4 points, if you win gammon. And there is the chance, that your enemy will throw it away, with 4 blots and outboarded. Are you sure, that it is to 100% a take? Even then it will be a double, based upon the volatility.
