In Response To: Bad news from Belgium - OT questions (Bob Koca)

Thanks Bob, Tom, Jason, Rich and Timothy for responding and sharing your explanations.

For me, it remains a bit difficult to understand, maybe because I want to do things that I should not want to; for example, I'd like to take the integral over the probability to pick any real number between 0 and 1 and get a 1 in return (integral of f(x)dx), with f(x) =0), but it seems that if each number has a probability of zero to be picked, the integral would be zero. I am not sure where I'd go wrong, I assume I should not want to calculate this integral, but not sure why not. Or maybe it should be understood by convention that this would be 1?! Anyway long time ago that I did some maths, so I hope I am not asking anything too silly.
