No, I maintain that this is a rather atypical backgammon position. I rarely encounter a similiar position where my opponent has to roll a one and then jump a prime. And I have two checkers on the bar, his 6 point open, and another blot. No, this is a rarity where I had no reference positions. Thus, I had no feel for this problem and find it to be "atypical". My backgammon style is to develop a familiarity with many various backgammon positions. It is important to recognize patterns and appropriately respond. It is impressive that Rich could analyze this problem. But I could not. But I play online with clock constraints. Perhaps, Rich could analyze this problem so well with said clock requirements.
