I would have thought the idea behind 11/7 wasn't to cover the ace point but to make the bar point (and a six-point prime), so that you can keep trying to recirculate without constantly worrying about the enemy checker escaping. Perhaps if there were more covers for the bar point or if the chances of a second blot materializing were better, slotting the bar point would be right?
