(1) Yes to the option of (at least) 4 decimal place display (another bot has the option of 6) especially if, e.g., you need results significant to 3 decimal places, or want to combine rollout results. Or enjoy backgammon puzzles where right is right by 0.0001.

(2) Yes (again -- it's on the wish list) to dark colored checkers on the bottom, please, like other bots' default schemes and like nearly every backgammon book and magazine I can think of.
