In Response To: Minimum # of Trials and Confidence (Stick)

GnuBG and XG both incorrectly report a Confidence Interval after 1 game.

Obviously there cannot be a standard deviation on a sample of 1.

By the way, my recommendation is to never stop any rollout under 108 games. I strongly suggest 324 minimum as a minimum number of games.

The simple cases where high confidence is achieved very quickly (under 324 or even 108) are always extremely fast so having extra game does not penalize much (time wise)

For player who seeks to have accurate value of each move, rather than knowing if which move is better, you would advice 1296 games.
