In spite of the slight time difference in completion I think S at least slightly is more complicated than R and S would be my play vs any level of competition.

Moi aussi. I don't think I've ever played 51S-54R.

OTOH, I've had more experience playing the third roll position reached after 51S-54R than I have playing the third roll position reached after 51S-54S. Is that true for you as well?
