I know you may be justifiably frustrated and pissed off.

However, I think I've at no time been other than gracious toward you. I have expressed that I like you and that I appreciate your efforts.

I've offered what I think is constructive suggestions for you and other directors to enhance tournament attendance and the tournament experience. These suggestions are from my perspective and from ideas expressed in discussions with various other players -- they are directed to all, not necessarily just to you. There are many commonalities.

I support backgammon. I probably attend as many ABT events as almost anyone -- including both of your US Opens to date and your Florida tournament this year (and last year if you directed that one).

Why take a shot at me? (if I miscontrued your intent, I apologize) If I happen to be on the computer when someone comments, and I have something to say, I do so -- why wait?

I doubt you're winning many friends with your bitterness at the poor tournament attendance at your events. We appreciate your efforts but, obviously, something is amiss with your tournament model -- beyond simply the state of the economy and a sluggish backgammon environment.

A better mousetrap exists. In addition to the established major tourneys (all of which have suffered reductions in attendance, though still decent crowds) the new Santa Fe tournament last year was very well received and quite successful. I think directors and potential directors can learn some good lessons from them.
