32S-62

Thanks for the heads up; I'll note it on the queue.

Please give S (Split, 24/18 13/11) a fair (or more than fair) shake in your 32S-62 rollout. The data I have (where bot symbols are ~ Snowie, / GnuBG, and < XG 3-ply) is:

[X S8 H13] ~31
[H X2 S22] /46*5
[X H7 S13] <62*46

The second rollout is the one on this site that most people consult, but S has been rolled out only 5k. The other two bots (first and third row) have it rolled out at least 31k.

I have old data of [X S6 H6] Jellyfish, and [X S2 H13] Snowie (not sure which version), both from the year 2000, and some rollouts may have had S on top. The perception at the time was that X and S were tied, with H being a bit too aggressive. At money scores, S was a pet favorite of Jerry Grandell (who was #1 Giant in 1999). It particularly suited his style (grinding people down and watching them try to make something happen).

It's unlikely that S is theoretically best, but it's certainly a strong candidate, better than GnuBG's rollout on this site suggests. I predict that we'll see X top the rollout, with H and S not far from either side of –.01.
