South Carolina gambling laws

I am by no stretch of the imagination a lawyer, but I have spent time Googling around and reading some stuff about gambling laws. In the U.S. at least state gambling laws seem like something that Lewis Carroll would have left out of "Alice in Wonderland" as being just too weird. In the specific case of South Carolina I recall reading that not only is "gambling" unlawful but technically almost all dice games are even if not played for money (backgammon being one of the few exceptions, if nothing is wagered).
Try reading (if you dare) South Carolina Gambling Laws.
Or read this.
