Why so much effort on the openings?

Just bcuz it is nice to know, and bcuz it is easy to catagorize and tabulate. That being said, I've done some work with backgame RO's and have a reasonable idea how to catagorize and compare them.

If Stick didn't have all those opening play RO's here and if Nack and Paul weren't doing book(s), I doubt I'd be doing so many opening RO's.

Note that you get an opening roll and response to play EVERY game.
