Why so much effort on the openings?

I am not knowledgeable on blade systems, but if the OS does not make all these CPU appear as one PC, then XG cannot use them. I think windows server 2008 R2 can do that.

However currently XG is limited to 64 threads

A project of distributed RO for let's say opening moves, reference position, etc.. is very interesting to me, but time is the limiting factor for me.

As Misja mentioned there is no difficulty in the implementation as RO are so easy to parallelize (such give each person a different seed), but it still require quite a lot of work: a front end web to make the result available, the user program, the server and the database etc…
