Opening 51 at gammon go

In Response To: Splitting Wins More Gammons Than Slotting (christian munk-christensen)

If you look at this summary of Opening 51 data, you'll see the following two lines:

    g[$ S10] /20
    g[$ S11] <5

There is an explanation underneath, but I'll spotlight it here: the "g" before the brackets stands for gammon go, and within the brackets, $ (Slot) beats S (Split) by .010 or .011.

The first rollout is GnuBG 20000+ trials. The second rollout is XG 3-ply 5000+ trials.

BTW, the gammon percentages within these rollouts (where the checkers are played at the score) favor slotting.

Cheers,

Nack
