Definition of "next"

I don't know what the operating definition of "next" is, but just because two or more plays are close doesn't mean that it's not an easy decision. You could, for example, decide that hitting is going to be close to best (even if not technically best) whereas any other play risks being a blunder, and rapidly decide to hit rather than spend a lot of time over what is likely to be a small difference in equity. Thus the decision of what to play OTB could be a "next" even if the question of which play is technically best is a difficult one.
