Despite gammon wins not mattering, I would still hit. It leaves 9 return shots, but it seems unlikely to me that you'll be able to bring your rear checkers around without leaving some potentially fatal shots at some point. (Once you leave your anchor, a hit may be even more lethal than it is now.) And if you don't get hit then you have an excellent chance to storm your way around the board and practically lock up the win.
