In Response To: Doubles means two per team (neilkaz)

I think it might be helpful to name some names from doubles events -- all teams which seem to have in common a disparity in skill between the partners ...

Bagai/Merriman, Ballard/Ballard, Ballard/McClintock, Ballard/Huie, Markowitz/Barsel, Corbett/Bryntesen, Fogerlund/Roston, Fogerlund/Kalba, Fogerlund/Taherzadeh, Gartner/Gartner, Glass/Macklin, Goulding/Ghio, Grönbech/Mellgren, Guzei/Livingston, Hickey/Landry, Holm/Meile, Kazaross/Cohen, Kazaross/Coppic, Kazaross/Kaplan, Kazaross/Thrussell, Kostadinov/Bowers, Kostadinov/Edge, Mattig/Paxton, Mattig/Stephens, Morioka/Wiest, Munitz/Bennett, Natanzon/Büyüksoy, Nogueira/Quadros, O'Laughlin/Koch, O'Laughlin/O'Laughlin, O'Laughlin/Vig, Rice/Pascar, Robertie/Robertie, Roberts/Roberts, Russell/Horton, Schmucki/Schmucki, Sequeira/Grimaldi, Sequeira/Sequeira, Simborg/Simborg, Sonnabend/Uyar, Simborg/Liberman, Trice/Lumbra, Wachtel/Mielech, Woolsey/Forudi, Woolsey/Jones, Woolsey/Kahn.

... because this may help think through whether a TD should be deciding whether a second partner is good enough, bad enough, or untalkative enough to be a "silent kib" or meet or not meet some other well-intentioned rule, including whether a "team" needs to occupy two chairs. Some of these teams were spouses. Some were in "social" events (or treated them as such). And some were in "pro-am" events, in which no more than one player is supposed to be a "pro" -- which seems to be the only difference between a "pro-am" and events like the European Doubles.
