I don't know how the rules in detail are. But in my opinion, a real double competition has to be with this rules we played years ago in a holiday: no consulting of the team members, and every move alternating between the partners. Doubling and taking by the team member at move. So this is a challenge. You have to look after what your partner plays for. And bringing in only a dummy wouldn't work. And you have to look for the style: a levanter wouldn't fit to the pure one.
